For the past two decades, career-driven Filipinas have trusted workwear brand Viseversa to provide them with stylish and functional ensembles to don as they go from their day-to-day activities whilst ascending the corporate ladder. This holiday season, the local retail brand is revamping their image and reinforcing their workwear stronghold through the help of their new Creative Director, fashion designer Patrice Ramos-Diaz, who is herself an epitome of Viseversa's modern woman: strong, independent, fashion-forward, ambitious, and lives a dynamic and multi-faceted life.
"This is a pivotal period in my designing career as I embark on this new creative mission—to design everyday work clothes for modern women," Patrice says. "It is something I can personally relate to since I consider myself career-driven and live a complex life that is basically hinged on the art of juggling family, friends, work, and socials, among others."
For her first collection dubbed Evolve, Patrice is honoring Viseversa's time-tested approach of fusing comfort, function, and sensible style in minimalist and elegantly understated ensembles that can effortlessly take the modern woman through all of her daily tasks. Silhouettes are classic, feminine, and form-flattering, yet spiced up with just the right amount of edge and modernity to cater to the urban Filipina's sharper style spirit.
The basic color palette of black, ivory and camel hark to Viseversa's fundamental work-appropriate aesthetic, but alternative neutrals such as taupe, browns, grays, navies, and deep purples are injected to the collection's color story for vibrancy and diversity. Prints are cleaner, too—geometric and minimal to keep up with Viseversa's streamlined look.
Lastly, the usage of techno fabrics—dri-fit, wrinkle-free, and temperature controlled wool blends, cotton silk, and stretch jacquard and twills—ensure that the Viseversa woman is at utmost ease as she powers through her daily grind.
