We give you the latest on what's going down at Paris with a daily update fresh off the runway. Here's what went down on day 6:
Aside from the Kardashian family sighting at the front row, a lot of other things went on at the Givenchy show. Black, white, and definitely hot. That’s what we have to say about the brand’s Spring 2015 offering. Riccardo Tisci wanted to bring tough and sexy back in this time and age where cool and comfy has been reigning on the streets and the runways. Inspired by Tyrolean costumes, vintage pinball games, and his humble beginnings at Givenchy, we spotted a handful of warrior-like dresses matched with knee high peep-toe boots, incredible detailing on tough chick jackets, mean and clean trousers that are all uber wearable, and lots of sexy lace. As always, Stella McCartney delivered an effortlessly beautiful collection. The pieces were all billowy, calmingly flowing and floating across the runway. Unforced grace were seen all over from hints of chiffon, a dash of parachute silk flight suits, and a sprinkle of sexiness through the cutouts breaking the fluidity. (See the full collection here.)
Inspired by Japan’s post war Metabolist movement and amused by the balance between man and machine at that time, Giambattista Valli played around with basic silhouettes made interesting through the prints and details. Blooming blossoms were seen sprawled across his basic shift dresses, tops, and jackets; while we saw movement via fringe and intricate scaled patchworks.(See the full collection here.) Oh! And in case you missed it, Amal Alamuddin also rocked a beautiful lace Giambattista Valli number the morning after her highly guarded wedding with George Clooney.
