While people were talking about the Kardashians sitting front row, let’s take a peek at what went on at the show. There was no shortage of transparencies and skin in Balmain this season. Through Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, to Karlie Kloss; sheer pleats, leather bandeaus, cutout onesies, and graphic grids brought Oliver Rousteing’s after-party inspiration to life. Backtage at Balmain
Speaking of Kardashians, the Balenciaga presentation was one of the most talked about at Paris Fashion Week because of one-year-old North West’s debut at the front row. Sitting with parents Kim and Kanye, North sported a leather skirt, leggings, baby Timberland boots, and a Yeezus sweatshirt. But moving on to what the toddler saw at the runway, Alexander Wang stuck to his area of expertise–sporty meets street, and upped his game through embellishments Cristóbal Balenciaga was famed for. The runway: a reworking of a classical French-tiled floor.
Carven satisfied our need for speed through fast fashion, literally. Inspired by racing and Formula 1, from the racetrack-like runway, to the bags, and to the clothes, everything happened so fast. The racing uniforms shown through bold stripes were married with mod silhouettes and illustration prints making up a 38-look line.
