Paris Fashion Week S/s 15 Day 1 Round Up PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 15 DAY 1 ROUND UP

We give you the latest on what's going down at Paris with a daily update fresh off the runway. Here's what went down on day 1:

Anthony Vaccarello takes his second bow for the season – the first in New York at the Versus show – with a collection inspired by the nautical world. As the first look comes down the runway, pirate references come to mind with the asymmetrical leather wrap skirt and leather jacket planted with a brass anchor on its chest. Transitioning into striped denim and bold-faced prints, coats and dresses hinted of Versace’s sex appeal refined and with sharp silhouettes and boxy sweaters. (See the full collection here.)

Another designer who travelled the nautical mile for the first day of Paris Fashion Week was Jacquemus with his big bold stripes on shorts, coats, and swimsuits. Skirts and cropped tops were made to look like beach towels wrapped around models’ frames with exaggerated shapes on the hips. But despite his play on sculptural shapes, some pieces from the collection were actually more wearable like his cheeky a-line dresses. (See the full collection here.)
