Shades of Pale
Those who consider super bright colors to be a summertime staple, we urge you to step outside your loud, multihued boxes. The Plains & Prints Summer Collection 2009 is proof that neutrals and nudes can heat up your look just as well this season. Cream, blush, khaki, and off-white pieces are not only a smart climate choice (lighter color equals less heat absorption) but are chic to boot. This season's tops, tees, dresses, shorts, and playsuits do come in darker colors like apricot and green apple, but the dapper neutrals seem to hit summer's sweet spot. You'll be a breath of fresh air in the stifling heat with these delicate pale shades.
The Italian Jigsaw Print
Moving in on foreign design house territories, Plains & Prints commissioned the same print maker who designs for Prada and Gucci to create an exclusive print for the local brand. The rich print gives a watercolor-like effect, with deep greens, bright reds, pale blues and a soft yellow merging and blending organically on fabric. The Jigsaw Collection is a six-piece set available in a variety of materials, textures and sophisticated cuts.
The Plains & Prints Summer Collection 2009 will be released gradually from March until May. Currently in-store this March are pieces from the Nude Collection. The entire Jigsaw Collection will be available in April.
