Our Top 8 Collections From New York Fashion Week From music festival themes to fairy tale-like frocks, we round up our fave collections from NYFW Spring/Summer 2015.

With New York Fashion Week finally wrapping up last week, it’s time for the reviews to start flowing in. Allow us to get started with our round up of designers who gave stellar collections worth applauding. From lace pencil skirts to utilitarian jackets, we give you our favorite eye candies of the season.

From afar you might think, “oh yeah? It all looks the same to me.” But take a look closer and you’ll realize that Fransisco Costa’s work of art lies within the details of his latest collection for Calvin Klein. Sleek lines and color blocking were the two main concepts as he played around with subtle embellishments and ribbed knitted materials that perfectly compliment his long, athletic silhouettes.

Already on his fifth season with Delpozo, designer Josep Font goes back to his couture roots with a dreamy collection that had everyone in attendance snapping shots for their Instagram accounts. The looks begin with cropped button-ups, culottes, and wide legged trousers in solid colors then slowly transition into sheer embellished pastel dresses while keeping boxy silhouettes prominent throughout the collection.

Another designer who rediscovered his roots this season was Jason Wu. Taking a break from the tough chic look, he brings back feminine aesthetics with a grown-up attitude with below the knee hemlines, tailored silhouettes, and glammed-up details.  From clean-cut day looks to practical trenches and beautiful gowns, the transition of pieces turned in the right direction for the young designer.

Forget the Beats by Dre headphones handed out during the show and the pink house and fuzzy carpet that lined the runway. Marc Jacobs’ was all about giving a new experience and what we saw from his collection was a redefined take on uniformity. So the underlying military inspiration might have been too obvious but don’t you think that those cargo pocketed coats and dresses were totally functional and wearable?

Ralph Lauren’s was another most-Instagrammed at NYFW with a collection that had all the uptown princesses wanting to take trips to the safari, stat. The parkas, oversized messenger bags may have lent a touch of street but everything else that glittered and flowed underneath those utilitarian jackets were surely from somewhere far and glossier. Nonetheless, the repeated mix of high and low was definitely eye candy.

Proving themselves as serious key players even more, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen coughs up sculptural works of art in dusty shades of black and cream for The Row’s latest collection. Cleaning up the baggy look they love most, the twins showed a variety of shapes from belled out dresses to cinched waited tops in cotton what was strategically draped to look like a chicly wrapped robe.

If you’re a die-hard fan of The Beatles, then Tommy Hilfiger’s collection might have made your heart leap for joy. The military jackets, tailored suits, star spangled boots and fur coats, and flowy chiffon gowns shoved us into a time machine and had us reminiscing the best '60s, '70s, and '80s fashion.

After last season’s fembots, Alexander Wang who's probably one of the biggest sneakerheads of our time takes this fascination and reinterprets them as bodycon dresses and tailored suits. Try flipping through the outlined scuba dresses and tell us if Nike Flyknits didn’t cross your mind.

Which of these collections did you like best? Tell us what you think and leave a comment.
