As with most successful businesses, Lo was born out of love—or, to be specific, love for fashion. Two 23-year-old millennials, Janelle Guiab and Kyle Bulut, shared the same passion for wearing nice clothes and it eventually pushed them to launch a dream project online last May. Check out @lothelabel on Instagram and you will see a feed bursting with color and Pinay-friendly apparel. "We make sure the fit is tailored to the Filipino body," Janelle shares.
If you have heard of Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita, the label was actually based on one of the characters. The owners told Preview, "[The character] is so seemingly innocent and childlike yet so dangerous—a girl completely ahead of her league. In the same way, Lo also means to draw attention to something amazing or to show wonder and surprise. We just love the idea of that."
