Who here listens to music while running? A lot of us. Notice the number of earbud-wearing runners pounding the sidewalks around BGC - music is their motivation. In fact, there's a growing body of research that claims music can reduce a runner's perception of exertion and fatigue as well as increase happiness and excitement.
The good news is Nike+ Running - the mobile app that allows us to track our running activites - has partnered with Spotify to enable users to stream its 30-million-song catalog directly from the running app. The collaboration has also integrated the Pace Station, which invites users to input their pace goal and musical preference. This data then informs a target BPM (beats per minute), which in turn creates a personalized 100-song playlist designed to push the runner’s pace. Quite the game-changer, huh.
