2. Kimora Lee Simmons will relaunch Baby Phat.

Kimora Lee Simmons is back with Baby Phat. The model-turned-fashion mogul has announced that she has recently brought back her early aughts brand, Baby Phat. Kimora says to expect a sportswear collection that gives a nod to the label's archival roots when they relaunch later this year.

4. LVMH is getting into the hotel business.

Luxury fashion goods and alcohol conglomerate company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) recently acquired Belmond Ltd, which was previously known as Orient Express Hotels. The company owns many luxury lodging properties found in historic spaces, like Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Hotel Splendido in Portofino, and Le Manoir Quat Saisons in Oxford, England, among others.

This is not the first time LVMH delved into the hotel business. In 2006, they acquired the 36-room Cheval Blanc luxury hotel located in France’s famed Courchevel ski resort.

5. Nike is the world's most valuable apparel brand.

Nike has successfully maintained and strengthened its position in the apparel business, according to a report done by Brand Finance Apparel. The sportswear giant had its brand value "increased by 16% since last year to $32.4 billion on the back of healthy sales growth in China, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa during the course of the year." Its rival sportswear brand Adidas managed to slip into the third place. Meanwhile, Spanish retailer Zara moved up to the second place and beat H&M, which snagged the fourth place. The fifth and sixth places were scooped up by Cartier and Louis Vuitton, respectively. Meanwhile, at the seventh place, "Uniqlo is the fastest-growing apparel brand in the top 10, up a whopping 48% year on year," Brand Finance Apparel reports.
