Olympic gold medalist, Elaine Thompson
What makes this Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection special is that it was inspired by Elaine Thompson, the first female Jamaican sprinter to sweep both the 100- and 200-meter sprints at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. It was quite a feat because it had not been done since 1988. The line is a celebration of this victory, as well as Elaine's dedication and hard work.
Each shoe is embellished with Elaine's signature, her mantra "one life, one chance," and her winning times of 21:78 for the 200-meter event and 10:71 for the 100-meter event. They are also made extra with gold accents (to highlight Elaine's gold medals!) that make them true winners for us.
