Sportswear giant Nike has become the first major brand to launch a hijab created especially for Muslim athletes!
Set to drop in 2018, the single-layer pull-on Nike Pro Hijab is made of lightweight polyester—breathable but still opaque. It's also ingeniously designed to stay tucked during strenous physical activity!
United Arab Emirates figure skater Zahra Lari has modelled the Nike hijab and posted a photo of herself wearing the label's sportswear to mark International Women's Day. She's preparing to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics, so get ready to see the high-performance hijab in serious action!
"I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab," Zahra says in a statement to CNN. "I've tried so many different hijabs for performance, and so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight."
