We give you the latest on what's going down at New York with a daily update fresh off the runway. Here's what went down on day 5:
A shout out to the golden years of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tommy Hilfiger presents his love for music(specifically the Beatles), and the sixties through an all-out presentation—complete with a grass carpet and scattered flowers representing the hippie era— of a show he has always dreamt of doing. Led by Georgia May Jagger and Kendall Jenner, spot pinstripe flared pants, patchwork denim, star-spangled minis, and military jackets mixed with modern twists making it an overall fun collection that veers away from the brand’s usual preppy offering. A garden as inspiration for a spring collection is common, but Carolina Herrera promised a modern garden and that’s what she delivered. Her signature clean lines and classic silhouettes were made interesting through the use of neoprenes mixed with classic textiles, blown up florals, and unlined and raw edges that gave it that youthful appeal. It seems that day five of NYFW was filled with fun shows as Libertine’s London-punk showcase was filled to the brim with popping colors and prints. Get a taste of what goes on in creative director Johnson Hartig’s imaginative mind through paint-brushed hosiery, crazy patchwork embellishments, and multicolor graphic jackets and trousers. Tomorrow will be one packed day! See the schedule below.
