Net-a-porter Is Merging With Yoox Now that's an online high fashion giant.

Global Internet retailing partner for leading fashion brands, YOOX S.p.A. (or YOOX Group), has entered into an all-share merger with London-based web fashion firm, Net-a-Porter, to "further enhance an independent, neutral platform for a sophisticated clientele looking for luxury brands,” announces Johann Rupert, Chairman of Richemont, the latter's parent company.

Upon completion of the transaction, the combined entity will be renamed "YOOX Net-A-Porter Group". Furthermore, this new group is looking to cement its presence in the increasingly competitive online market by creating a more more diversified business portfolio and providing customers with a fully fleshed-out retail experience.

“It is a store that never closes, a store without geographical borders, a store that connects with, inspires, serves and offers millions of style-conscious global consumers access to the finest designer labels in fashion,” shares Federico Marchetti, founder and CEO of YOOX, who will also be CEO of the YOOX Net-A-Porter Group.
