There will always be a place in our hearts for colorful, eye-catching sneakers. Much like other collectibles—be it vinyl records, comic books, or vintage furniture—there's just something satisying about owning one-of-a-kind styles and unique iterations that you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. However, we can't deny that sneakers, much as we treat them like valuable artwork, also serve a practical purpose. So while we're all for hunting down rare kicks and limited-edition styles, we'd also encourage you to have at least a few practical pairs on your shoe rack that you can wear pretty much every day.
In case you don't have any, now's the time to stock up—and if you're shopping on a budget, then we found lace-ups that would be right up your alley. MUJI's new Less Tiring Balmoral Sneakers are only P1,650 a pair and as you'd expect from the Japanese retailer, they're a perfect blend of form and function.
These fuss-free cotton sneakers sport a monochromatic design—you can choose between a fresh Off-White pair or a cool Black set with both styles sporting just one shade from the soles to the laces. Each also features an ergonomic insole design to support your arches, so you can walk with ease all day long. Look closely and you’ll notice that while the minimalist style sports a mostly no-frills design, the shoe is made more distinct with structured stitching as well as slim paneling on the upper and heel, highlight the sneaker's silhouette and giving it a little moree dimension. The pair is finished off with a rubber outsole for maximum support, comfort, and durability. The result is a pair of lace-ups fit for most casual occasions and everyday outfits.
