It's official! Everyone's favorite TV host and advocate, Bianca Gonzalez, is now Mrs. JC Intal. We showed you the style elements we loved from the destination wedding everyone is talking about, but the deets we got on Bianca's makeup and bridal frock will prove that she is no ordinary bride. Did you guys know that she did her own makeup and got a ready-to-wear gown for her wedding? Wow doesn’t even get to give this incredibly simple woman justice. It was a surprise wedding that took our entry to December by storm, but clearly there were more revelations worth discussing.
This woman did her own makeup on her wedding day. We kid you not! Her go-to makeup artist, Lala Flores, taught her the basics and she chose to apply what she has learned on the day she said "I do." Her makeup was perfect for the beach: sunkissed with a bit of bronzer, matched with pink pouts using MAC Cosmetics' lipstick in lickable, for a touch of color. #MakeupByBiancaGonzalez was indeed a success. We don't know many brides who have guts to do that. You go, Bianca!
HER BRIDAL GOWN
We caught hubby, JC, holding a Rosa Clará garment bag and from there we already knew, this bride opted for RTW.
Can you believe how simple this pretty celebrity bride is? Yes, she got this stunning dress off the rack, matched it with a cymbidium orchid flower crown by Rob Blancaflor, and look how well it fits her and the theme of her wedding? We talked to Rosa Clará's Managing Partner, Valerie Zayco, and she shared with us Bianca's experience with them.
When did you first meet with Bianca? And how long did it take to finish her wedding gown?
"We first met with Bianca sometime in September. She came in to fit gowns and to finalize her choice. We began the fitting process at the beginning of November and we were done with her dress shortly after that. "
Bianca's choice: Ubeda from the Soft by Rosa Clará collection
How many dresses did she try on before she found the one? What were her main requirements with her gown?
"Even before coming to the store, Bianca already did her research. She checked our website www.rosaclara.es and she zoomed in in on the gown she liked: Ubeda, the name of the gown she wanted. It is from our Soft by Rosa Clara collection. The gowns from the Soft by Rosa Clara 2014 collection were inspired by the look of the 1920s, which is evident in the silhouettes and in the Art Deco inspired embellishments.
She tried on Ubeda first and instantly, Bianca already had a feeling that it was her dress, but given that it was the very first dress, we asked her to fit seven to eight more gowns and went back to Ubeda just so she is sure that it was her dress."
What were the materials used for her dress?
"The dress is made of soft tulle and intricate beadwork."
Did it fit right away? What were the adjustments that had to be made if there were any?
"It was initially a bit large on Bianca, but we made the necessary adjustments to make the gown fit like a glove."
Was the flower crown her idea?
"Yes. This is something she worked on with her event stylist."
How was the experience working with Bianca?
"Bianca is very easy to work with. She knows what she likes and so it was easy to narrow down the options. "
How easy is it to get a dress from Rosa Clará?
"We carry samples at the store and only one piece per design. We offer a wide range of styles as we try to give a good reflection of the entire collection. There are just too many dresses offered to carry them all at the store. We have all types of silhouettes to help brides envision how they look in gowns of the same style that we may not necessarily carry but offer through the lookbook."
Preview's very own Liz Uy styled her client and friend, Bianca, on her big day.
What are the range of sizes you offer?
"Normally, when brides come and visit us, they try on the sample gowns at the store and when they have decided on a gown, we take their measurements and order the gown from Barcelona. It takes six months for the gown to arrive. However when a bride is rushing, and can't wait six months, she may purchase a gown in the store and we have in-house tailors trained by our Spanish principals who will ensure the perfect fit. Some brides also prefer to order straight from the Lookbook after seeing the same silhouette on them. This also takes six months for the gown to reach our shores."
What can brides in general expect from Rosa Clará?
"Rosa Clará gowns, are always timeless whatever collection they come from, so whenever brides look back at their wedding photos, they don't look dated. We are also known for our superb service and tailoring. We take the stress and guesswork out of the planning process for the bride. What they see when they come over and try on our gowns or order from our lookbook, they can be sure is what they will get—and on time, too! "
Bianca and JC will have another ceremony here in Manila this coming December 10 (the date they announced to the public). We'll get you the details for #JCandB part 2, but for now, check out the 6 style elements we loved from the Gonzalez-Intal nuptials.
