Renowned Filipino wedding gown designer, Monique Lhuillier, flew back to Cebu to celebrate her parents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary last Saturday, August 2, 2014. Of course, a big celebration like that calls for a knockout attire, and there was no one better to do it than Monique herself.
With the objective of making the celebration of 50 years of love and marriage an unforgettable one, Monique unearthed her mom’s original wedding gown(which still fits her, by the way) and transformed it into a frock fit for a queen.
Taking her over a year to complete the gown, Monique got the beautiful lace from the original stunner, designed a long-sleeved dress with a slim silhouette, and adorned the whole number with beaded antique gold overlay.
This beautiful detachable train was from the lace of the original gown.
Mrs. Lhuillier definitely looked like a queen that day, right? Oh the perks of having a designer in the family!
