Akiko Abad has a face worthy of a double take. She may be petite, but her pout packs quite a stylish punch. As part of our Girls of Summer feature this month, get to know Akiko a little more in this short but sweet Q&A.
Who’s your number one model girl crush/inspo and why?
My number one model inspo is Kate Moss. She's shorter than the average model by many inches and even with a boy-like body, she made all her flaws her assets. I love her confidence, how she looks pretty without makeup, and even more beautiful with full on makeup. She's like a chameleon. She can look girly and sweet in one photo and fierce in the next. She sure knows how to work the camera! I also love her sense of style.
Your ultimate dream modeling gig?
My ultimate dream is to be on the cover of a high fashion magazine like Preview or Harper's Bazaar. lt would also be a huge honor if I modeled for the campaigns of some of my fave international brands, like Topshop, Mango or Guess. No dream is too big! Which is why I believe that if you have a dream, chase it, make it real and work hard for it.
What summer trends are you excited to wear this season?
My go-to summer outfit would be a romper, sandals and hat. I like wearing rompers 'cause it's a one piece outfit and can be very comfy and chic. It's the perfect outfit for hot weather.
Do you have a summer closet staple?
My summer closet staples would be denim shorts, a bikini, and a pair of sunnies. I love wearing denim shorts because they match with almost anything. It's my everyday go-to outfit.
