Renowned for its youthful reinterpretation of femininity grounded in modern aesthetics, the house has produced a string of cult accessories over the past year, especially in the realm of footwear and handbags.

Following the success of its New Balance sneaker collaboration, the Aventure bag, and its widely adored satin ballerinas, Miu Miu introduces yet another standout piece to its accessories lineup: the Ivy bag. If the silhouette looks familiar, it’s because you’ve likely seen it slung over the shoulders of several well-dressed tastemakers all over the world.

What is the Miu Miu IVY Bag?

The Ivy bag is Miu Miu’s elevated take on the classic vertical shopper, otherwise known as a tote. Traditionally, a shopper bag is known for its open top, languid form, double shoulder straps, and generously-sized interior, making it ideal for carrying everything from daily necessities to weekend errand hauls.

With the Ivy, Miu Miu refines these utilitarian codes. The bag features slender arc-shaped straps, discreet gold-tone hardware, and a subtle embossed logo. Altogether, the details lend the otherwise practical shape a sophisticated, street-ready look.

Debuting on the runway as part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the Ivy bag aligned with the collection’s guiding philosophy: an exploration of beauty through reconstruction, marked by Miuccia Prada’s signature mix of preppy, sporty, and playful styles.

Two standout looks showcased the Ivy bag in different iterations. One featured the white canvas version with brown leather trimmings, paired with a collegiate-inspired outfit: a brown suede jacket and midi skirt layered over a blue-collared shirt and dark knit polo. Another showed a brown leather patchwork version alongside a resort-ready ensemble, which featured a strapless beige bandeau trimmed in leather, matching knee-length shorts with an orange waistband detail, and green roped flip-flops.

What Are the Different Types of the Miu Miu Ivy Bag, and How Much Do They Cost?

Since its runway reveal back in October 2023, the Ivy bag has been introduced in a variety of sizes, textures, and colorways.

Classic leather

The most recognizable version is the regular size in full calfskin leather, measuring 40 centimeters in height and 35 centimeters in width. Retailing for SGD 3,150 (approximately P138,940), it includes a fabric-lined interior and zipped compartments. According to the brand's website, this size can easily accommodate a cardholder, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and a full-sized wallet. It is currently available in three classic shades: Black, Sand Beige (cream white), and Briarwood (a rich dark brown).

Leather patchwork

Another version of the regular-sized Ivy features a patchwork leather exterior made from lambskin and lined with a linen-blend fabric. With its slightly vintage, lived-in appeal, this edition comes in three hues: Cognac (caramel brown), Chalk White, and Briarwood. Currently, this variation is priced at SGD 4,350 or around P191,869.

Canvas

The canvas Ivy bag, as seen on the runway, offers a lightweight, seasonless alternative. Beyond the white canvas trimmed with leather, Miu Miu has expanded its canvas line to include striped versions: one with horizontal white and brown bands, and another with bold vertical streaks of red, yellow, and brown.

The regular canvas version is priced at SGD 2,650 (about P116,886), while the larger iteration costs SGD 3,550 (approximately P156,583).

Miu Miu also offers the Ivy in a dark-wash denim version with leather trim detailing. Its crisp, urban aesthetic makes it suitable for office days, campus life, or city errands. The Small

Slightly larger than the Mini, the Small version is distinguished by its boxier silhouette and rounded top handles. It measures 23.5 centimeters (height) x 22 centimeters (width) x 12 centimeters (depth), and just like the Mini, each unit also comes with a detachable leather strap for versatile wear.
