The national costume segment of any pageant is something many look forward to for show-stopping ensembles that display the best of a country's culture. Miss World Philippines 2022 just had its showcase yesterday, and the candidates certainly did not disappoint with their chosen garbs. However, Miss Bulakan Lady Justerinnie Santos' look was definitely the one that shut down the whole catwalk.

The beauty queen was an absolute vision in an elevated Filipiniana gown designed by Marbin Garcia and inspired by the Reyna Elena. Its bodice and butterfly sleeves were embellished with gold flower brooches, lagang flowers, and other native materials produced in Bulacan. The ball gown skirt was constructed in scalloped layers, creating a dynamic look every time Lady took a step.

True to the story of Reyna Elena, she carried a glistening gold cross and donned an intricately-made crown. Marbin tells Preview that he "chose materials that will best represent our province because I really want the country to see how creative Bulakenyos are."

But get this, the actual show-stopper of the entire look wasn't even the gown nor the accessories. When Lady stepped out, she was also lugging around her very own float! Marbin explains that the piece-de-resistance of her costume was a Singkaban Arch, a bamboo structure that signifies the arts and culture of their home. It was decorated with a slew of flowers and candles before being attached to the gown. What's even more awe-inspiring? It only took 15 days to put the entire ensemble together.

"Bulakenyos are known to be fond of Santa Cruzan and Flores De Mayo as the first [ones] were both held in our province," Marbin continues. He says that Lady was supposedly just going to wear the dress, but their team wanted to add an even grander touch to it. Even if it weighed approximately 55kgs (which is more than what Lady herself weighs), they were all determined to bring the jaw-dropping look to life. Take a look at how effortlessly the candidate walked in it below!
