Congratulations are in order for 28-year-old R'Bonney Gabriel, who was just crowned as Miss Universe 2022! The fashion designer bested over 80 other astounding women for the coveted title and crown.
In the Q&A segment, R'Bonney spoke about the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry, stating "I used fashion as a force for good. In my industry, I'm cutting down on pollution through recycled materials when I make my clothing." Bravo!

Such a momentous moment was commemorated by, not only the beauty queen's timely answer, but also by her stunning gown. She wore a backless black velvet frock that fronted a deep v-neckline, cut-outs by her sides, and studs at her shoulders.

In case you didn't know, R'Bonney is a proud Filipino-American, and this winning dress of hers was also crafted by fellow Pinoy designer, Rian Fernandez. She goes into detail about the piece, saying, "the black color of the gown represents competence and sophistication. The gunmetal accents epitomize strength and [the] remarkable resilience of R'Bonney."
Across the entire ensemble were black onyx and glass mirror drops that symbolized "reflection and self-growth." The fringe on the skirt was intended to represent the "movement of life" with sapphire-hued Swarovski stones. Each detail makes it an even more show-stopping look!
Rian was also responsible or dressing R'Bonney for the prelimary rounds. Her iridescent magenta ensemble was simply to die for!
