Everyone's favorite local ghourl Mimiyuuuh has done is again, and this time, she successfully slayed the #VogueChallenge as seen in her latest vlog. ICYDK, the Vogue Challenge is an on-going social media craze on TikTok and Instagram, where people Photoshop the Vogue masthead onto their photos. This fun initiative was started by British Vogue and it has since taken the internet by storm. That said, it came as no surprise that Mimi, an adamant lover of fashion and a designer herself, would join in on the fun.
In the video, the influencer is seen showing off a rack of clothes perfect for the “new normal.” But instead of plain old PPEs, all her picks are stylish versions of the protective garb.
Mimi also worked with photographer Brix Laverez for the shoot. Of course, they both practiced social-distancing and wore masks to keep safe. The vlogger then went on to explain how fashion adapts to social and economic trends, stating examples of typical 'fits before the World War and after it.
Mimi animatedly gives a short history lesson on how fashion has evolved and changed throughout the years.
We love Mimi for explaining how fashion changes through the times, and how it is part of everyone’s essential way of life. Since our local designers are heavily affected by the pandemic, Mimi’s video is a huge boost of encouragement and promotion for the industry that struggles to keep afloat during this difficult period.
The last part of the video is the actual shoot, and our favorite look is this tiered PPE dress from Rivera Apparel paired with the coolest cloth mask by ḢA.MÜ. Mimi also shared snippets of the photos laid out with the Vogue masthead.
