In case you were too busy to make it to the first two nights of Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival, allow us to fill you in on what you’ve missed: Sheer bottoms are still on-trend, and purposely showing off your undies is this season’s glaring style tip. If you want proof, just turn to this look from Dak Bonite’s Melancholia collection:

This all-black lace ensemble shows plenty of skin to achieve a certain level of sultriness, and yet it did not fail to leave a few things to the imagination. The neckline is wide enough to give a peek of the clavicle; the trousers are high above the waist to keep the sheerness in check; and the ruffled sleeves make for a playful detail to balance the otherwise come-hither cropped top.

The black sheer number pictured above sums up what Dak Bonite's collection is all about: dark, romantic, and not shy on the drama. The designer defines Melancholia as “gloom, despair, and sorrow with a purpose.” Staying true to this aesthetic, she sent her models down the runway clad in lace and velvet pairings, see-through frocks with heavily ruffled skirts, and occasional peppering of embellishments and sparkles.
