Bamba Limon's vision for the modern Filipina is clear. She's not afraid of color—in fact, she bathes in it, turning her wardrobe into a personal statement of strength. "She brings with her an intense passion for the world, deeply rooted from her local pride of place," the designer tells Preview.

Such was the Davao-based designer's muse, a woman who would wear his lineup of vivid-hued garments constructed from a mix of denim, crepe, and silk. Each piece was decorated with embroidery patterns from Southern tribes such as the T'boli, Bagobo Tagabawa, and Mandaya, breathing new life into modern basics. The splash of pattern on every dress, button-down, and skirt caught our eye the entire time, telling us that all this majesty in color and texture is exactly what we're missing in our wardrobes. And come to think of it, we don't disagree.
