The Breakfast Club meets Marie Antoinette in local designer Patrick Lazol’s showcase for the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival 2018 as models strutted on the runway in elaborate, feminine updos and French Rococo-inspired makeup.
Patrick’s designs were characterized by contrasts, featuring an elaborate play on volume and textures. The designer displayed a mix of austere colors and geometrical patterns like lines and plaid, juxtaposing them with ornate details such as florals, fringes, pleats, and ruffles.

It’s a mishmash of textures and influences, yet somehow Patrick manages to weave them into a silhouette that feels urban, from the bomber jackets to the draped skirt. Eclectic and modern with a touch of femininity, Patrick’s vision brings ensembles that won’t feel out of place on the streets of Harajuku.
