The most mind-blowing of them all!

This year's Met Gala theme, Camp: Notes on Fashion, is easily the craziest one yet. But what exactly is "camp"? Perhaps, the answer lies in the question itself—there's no exact formula in getting the theme right. But if we're to round up the most campy looks on the red carpet, these stars are clear front-runners! And their winning formula? The crazier, the better!

Scroll down to see the kitschiest and most outrageous looks we loved seeing on the Met Gala red carpet this year.

1. Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell

Lady Gaga just shut down the Met Gala with her grand entrance. Who could even top her four outfit changes in 15 minutes? Even Anna Wintour herself said we should all "just go home." LOL!

2. Zendaya in Tommy Hilfiger

This former Disney star paid homage to her roots in the coolest way possible. She literally had a Cinderella moment—complete with a light-up dress transformation, real-life fairy godmother, bedazzled carriage clutch, and a glass shoe left on the red capet!

3. Billy Porter in The Blonds

Speaking of major entrances, Billy Porter almost rivaled Lady Gaga's as the actor was carried into the Met Gala like an Egyptian pharaoh.

4. Jared Leto in Gucci

Gucci ambassador Jared Leto took a page from Alessandro Michele's Fall 2018 collection, striding into the party carrying a simulacrum of his own head. Overall, the look was not just an homage to the Gucci house; it was also inspired by old Christian art. Jared literally looked like a fash rendition of a Cephalophore, a saint generally depicted to be carrying his own head.

6. Janelle Monáe in Christian Siriano

We got our eyes on Janelle Monáe—pun intended! The singer took notes from surrealism and was inspired by artists like Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali to create her campy outfit.

7. Cardi B in Thom Browne

Cardi B's giant frock could easily be categorized as a work of art. This Thom Browne creation is reportedly "layered in oxblood tulle and silk organza, with a three-meter long train." Additionally, it's adorned "with hand-embroidered bugle bead detailing, ruby nipples, and 30,000 burned and dyed coque feathers." Oh, and it took 35 people and over 2000 hours to create. Whew!

8. Cara Delevingne in Dior

Cara arrived in a candy-colored Dior look, taking us back to Willy Wonka's crazy chocoloate factory! What we were particulary intrigued by, however, was the model's kitschy Machine Dazzle headpiece made of eyeballs, dentures, a fried egg, and bananas. Crazy would be an understatement!

9. Donatella Versace in Versace

As Donatella once said, "If D isn't for Donatella, it's for divine." Versace's creative director came in a smashing bodysuit featuring Barocco pattern crystals and is fully jewel-embroidered. She paired the shiny look with an equally bright fluoro-green skirt with the word "divine" hand-embroiderd in Swarovski crystals.

10. Diane Von Furstenberg in DVF

Lady Liberty goes to camp! Diane Von Furstenberg wore a dress printed with her self-portrait on it, which actually holds more meaning to the fashion icon than what meets the eye. She shared on Instagram that she decided to come as Lady Liberty to the Met Gala in tribute to her late mother, Liliane. She captions, "Today May 6, 1944, my mother was arrested and sent to Auschwitz...75 years later, I am going to the Met Ball as her torch of Freedom!" Awww!
