A few days ago, at the recently concluded People’s Choice Awards, Chloe Grace Moretz was spotted in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton. While we’re done raving about her look-at-me outfit and how she turned the runway look into a red carpet ensemble, we want to take a closer look at her choice of footwear—Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2014 It Shoe, the New Day sandal.
It was just two seasons ago when the talented Nicolas Ghesquière was announced as the successor of Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton. At his Fall 2014 debut at the helm of the fashion power house, the artistic director left a note on each seat that began with: “Today is a new day, a big day…” . Indeed, he was about to show to an eager and discerning crowd, a stronger and improved LV complete with a shoe, aptly named to represent the beginning of a new era.
What's interesting is that the thoroughly modern design leaned on the look of the seventies, with its curved heel, juxtaposition of two leathers (patent and matte), and a striking signature metal "V" accessory, perfect for this year's American Hustle-ish fashion revival. Not to mention, the two broad bands at the bottom are shaped like a slip-on, making it look like a cross between a mule and an ankle-strap. Sooo last season. But in a good way.
How about you, what do you think of the shoe? Let us know in the comments below.
