One of the many powers of fashion is its ability to reflect the times. When you look at history, every decade witnessed the emergence of a particular style, which marked specific eras in fashion.

In the 1990s, subculture was all the rage. Goth and grunge rose from the underground and dominated the streets, heavily influencing the fashion scene. Some of its key trends were slip dresses, head-to-toe black, chokers, period and oversized clothing.
Now that fashion has been more inclusive and experimental than ever, modern dressing often includes harkening back and mixing pieces from a certain decade to add character to an overall outfit. Such is the case with Maris Racal's latest look of the day.

The actress recently shared a series of photos on her Instagram with the caption, "SUNSHINE movie, DAY 4." In the photos, Maris sported a goth chic ensemble that transported us to the nineties.
She wore a floor-length, wide-strap black period dress, in which the bodice mimics the structure of a corset, which hugs Maris' figure beautifully. It featured a romantic touch with the simple knot on the bust. The actress accessorized the look with a black choker and black shoulder bag with grommets. She even carried a denim jacket for an added edge.
Ever so stylish, Maris!
