Marian Rivera's status as a style icon reaches a new peak with her official appointment as a friend of the House of BVLGARI Philippines.
Marian Rivera on Being a Friend of the House of BVLGARI
At Bonifacio Global City last May 19, the actress was officially welcomed into the BVLGARI family through an intimate dinner. Attended to by her fellow artists Gabbi Garcia, Max Collins, and Ruru Madrid, as well as her fellow ambassador Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, the evening was themed after the elegance embedded in Marian's name, which was one of the driving factors behind her designation.
"Her evolution from distinguished actress to a timeless style icon reflects an exquisite blend of qualities that continue to shape her status as a true Filipina icon," BVLGARI Philippines expressed. "She stands as a representation of empowered modern women, embodying bold sophistication and quiet confidence."
As the second Filipina to be named a friend of the House, Marian sees the role as both an honor and a responsibility. Always one to stay ardently true to herself, she candidly spoke in Tagalog to express her thanks. "Mixed emotions ako na sabi ko, ‘Totoo ba ito?’ From Caviteña, and now the face of BVLGARI?" she gushed.
"So everything is possible talaga. Just trust yourself, be yourself, and enjoy mo lang ang nangyayari sa buhay mo."
No stranger to BVLGARI's exquisite collections—from the B.zero1 to the Serpenti—the Primetime Queen aligns herself with the Italian maison's vision, highlighting their mutual traits. "Sa BVLGARI, ganoon ang strength—tahimik, pero matibay. May dala itong quiet confidence, hindi sya loud, pero ramdam mo yung lakas. Beauty is simple, timeless, at may lalim," she declares.
The assignment testifies to the tightening grip Asian star power has over the luxury fashion scene. With two powerhouse women representing a revered heritage house, the Philippines is poised to continue on its path to global recognition. Marian emphasizes this point, saying:
"Ang pagiging Pilipino ay may natural warmth at grace. Ang gusto kong gawin dito [bilang friend of the House] ay nakaugat sa culture at values natin, pero kayang tumayo sa global stage with quiet confidence."
