Kwak Hyun Joo is an established designer who hails from South Korea. She's a staple at Seoul Fashion Week and has been known for her kitschy streetwear collections made especially for millennials. "I like to take inspiration from the ordinary," the designer tells Preview. For this collection, she specifically took inspo from the streets of her home country, including logofied hems, graffiti-inspired designs, fishnets, leopard prints, denim, and plaid.
Her print-laden and texturized collection clearly reflects her city as a hub for sartorial inspiration. Based on everything we've seen from her 13-piece collection, bright hues, oversized silhouettes, clashing prints, and mixed textiles merely scratched the surface of Korea's unapologetically loud and unique fashion aesthetic.
