Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2026 Show Flirts with the Art of Intimacy
Staged at the Louvre, womenswear artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière reveals a collection shaped by the rituals of dressing indoors.

Louis Vuitton opened its Spring/Summer 2026 show with a moment of stillness. At the Musée du Louvre, Cate Blanchett’s measured voice echoed through its marbled halls, reciting lines from Talking Heads’ This Must Be the Place. Written by lead singer David Byrne in 1983, the American rock band’s song explores themes of kinship—on finding a home within another person. As her words reverberated against the galleries, the first model emerged on the runway.
Enveloped in a cloudlike ensemble—part sheer, part sculptural—the silhouette featured a puffed jacket with petal sleeves, a boned bustier, and floor-grazing trousers. Immediately, with this opening look, Nicolas Ghesquière immediately sets the collection’s atmosphere of intimacy.

This season, the French maison makes a case for a wardrobe that speaks to intimacy and personal rhythm. Silhouettes expanded into billowing forms before tapering back into sharp tailoring. Gauzy fabrics floated against the skin, while muted neutrals were interrupted by controlled flashes of crimson, saffron, and sky blue. Fittingly, the maison describes it simply as “the art of living.”
The collection draws from the glamour of 1940s Hollywood—a sartorial era marked by strong, broad shoulders, nipped-in waists, and knee-length, often A-line skirts. Yet here, those signatures were softened. Jackets collapsed into fluid drape, skirts loosened into movement, and tailoring was tempered with transparency.
Pieces toyed with the boundaries of indoor dressing, suggesting that the true luxury lies in wearing what reflects one’s most honest self.

With intimacy as the central theme this season, the presentation drew in an intimate guest list composed only of its A-list ambassadors. Names like Zendaya, Emma Stone, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Felix of Stray Kids, and more were among the personalities present.
