Louis Vuitton's Fall 2017 runway show has confirmed the rumors that they have collaborated with streetwear brand Supreme. Kim Jones, men's artistic director for Louis Vuitton, has solidified the American brand's cool status by incorporating it with the French luxury house's latest collection.
In a statement, LV stated its intention for the collab, "Supreme and Louis Vuitton collaborate for the first time, creating a capsule collection of clothing, accessories and jewelry, showcased alongside Vuitton’s own. More than a collaboration between two labels, this represents the excellence of New York street style and Louis Vuitton’s French savoir-faire."
Additionally, Highsnobiety editor Chris Danforth praises the collection, saying, "Both names are archetypal, and these two of the greatest are each worshipped in their own way; Supreme epitomizes streetwear, and Louis Vuitton is the most valuable name in high fashion. Given the history shared by both brands, the fact that a once-bootleg collaboration became reality speaks volumes about the current climate, where streetwear and high fashion as individual aesthetics are now less distinguishable than ever, if at all, especially after this."
Below, we've listed five items we cannot wait to get our hands on as soon as the full collection drops mid-July this year.
1. Red bomber jacket
This piece was not originally unveiled on the runway, but on Supreme's Instagram account.
2. Denim jacket
Glad to be interrupted, the Supreme logo intercepts the famous Louis Vuitton print on a closet staple we are all obsessed with.
3. Sneak(er) Peek
These shoes were also not part of the runway show but were revealed on Supreme's Instagram account. If you're buying a new pair of shoes, might as well have one with punches of cool and luxury.
4. Petite Malle phone cases
Phone cases are the new arm candies. Make a statement with Supreme's stark red hue embellished with LV's monogram in the luxury house's trunk-inspired case.
Speaking of arm candies, you may want to check out the minimalist bag collection printed with both Supreme's logo and LV's monogram. Red or black, you ask? We say yes to both!
