Pia Wurtzbach and Laureen Uy are among the stylish Filipinas making rounds this season at New York Fashion Week. Both undeniably fashionable but armed with different personal styles, the likelihood of seeing them in an identical outfit is slim. Still, fashion girls always know the key trends to wear, so we wouldn't be surprised if they managed to pack a few similar pieces.
Coincidentally, the two Preview girls were spotted reviving a '70s trend that made a brief resurgence in 2015: the front-button skirt. Now, we're seeing the said piece again, but worn in different ways. First up, we have Pia's interpretation. The beauty queen wore her Sam Richelle skirt over a dress, leaving most of the buttons undone to create a makeshift slit to allow a bit of her dress to peek through.
Meanwhile, Laureen mastered the oversized streetstyle aesthetic with her bright pink Balenciaga hoodie and on-trend bulky Alexander McQueen boots. But instead of opting for a pair of jeans or wide-leg trousers, the fashion blogger chose to wear a Tibi denim skirt for her bottom. Like Pia, Laureen unbuttoned her skirt, too, to add movement to an otherwise hefty outfit and to allow her haphazard slit to reveal the black leggings underneath.
