Jennifer Lawrence has never been afraid to give people a piece of her mind, and this latest development is no exception. While her male co-stars arrived at a photo call for the film Red Sparrow clad in scarves and coats, Jen opted to don a sexy black Versace number and was subsequently criticized for her decision. Media outlets published stories with titles like Metro UK's "Depressing Image of Jennifer Lawrence in Tiny Dress on Freezing Rooftop While Men Wear Coats Sparks Fury" and The Daily Wire's "Why Is Jennifer Lawrence Nearly Naked on a Rooftop in the Freezing Cold?"
Jen took to her official Facebook account to address the "controversy" and defend her outfit choice. The actress pressed that whatever a woman wears should be her own decision, further noting that the issue was "ridiculous."
"That Versace dress was fabulous; you think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf? I was outside for five minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice," she wrote.
"This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism," she went on. "Over-reacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward. It's creating silly distractions from real issues. Get a grip, people. Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold THAT'S MY CHOICE TOO!" Check out the full post below:
