Whether you love to hate it or hate to love it, Emily In Paris is back for a second season on Netflix. Among its other elements, the style-centric series is known for its central character's (played by Lily Collins) eye-catching and almost off-kilter sense of style.
In our recent interview with her, Patricia Field, the show's costume designer for its first season, and now it's costume consultant, says she's well aware of this critique. The 79-year-old style legend states that for the second season, "Emily's style remains optimistic as an expression of her character."
Stepping in with Patricia as costume designer, Marylin Fitoussi has shared that for this season, some of Emily's sartorial choices were from more recognizable brands. For this season's finale, she actually wore a red tulle piece from the H&M x Giambattista Valli collection back in 2019. She tells fashionista.com that the reason for this is mainly "accessibility."
Any fashion-savvy individual could possibly recognize the frothy dress as part of the Italian house's collaboration with the fast fashion brand. More specifically, it's called the Antonia dress, and it's last recorded price was at P21,990. The actress behind Emily, Lily, took a few snaps in the voluminous frock and called it her "Christmas Eve attire."
The folks over at Emily in Paris aren't the only fans of this dress. Two years back when the collection was initially released, the beloved Heart Evangelista rocked the frock on a trip to Rome. She cinched her waist with a belt, wore it with a killer pair of heeled ankle boots and looked like a dream against the Italian greenery.
More recently, we also spotted style siren Camille Co wearing the bold red piece on Instagram. She even chose to complete the ensemble with red gloves and silver jewelry, how chic!
