Levi’s offered an exclusive preview of its forthcoming Blue Tab collection, slated to arrive in stores by the third quarter of the year. Held last May 5 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the intimate gathering brought together the label’s regional community of tastemakers and creatives from across Southeast Asia. Filipina content creator Mimiyuuuh joined Indonesian actors Sahila Hisyam and Yoshi Sudarso, as well as Malaysian actor Nadhir Nasar, among others.

Staged at The Grey Box inside the GMBB creative community mall, the evening featured a limited-run exhibit spotlighting pieces from the August-to-October Blue Tab lineup, alongside one-of-a-kind installations crafted from the brand’s deadstock denim. The affair culminated in a runway presentation, complemented by a live performance from Malaysian band Soft Soft Pillow.

The entrance
At the entrance, guests were welcomed by “Roots of Connection,” an installation by Malaysian art collective Phynn Studio. The denim-cast art piece draws inspiration from the folding tables and chairs commonly found across Malaysian households and eateries.
In the exhibit notes, artist Phyn Tan reflected on the similarities between the enduring nature of the folding furniture and the appeal of Levi’s denim. “Both shaped by labor. Both rooted in the everyday. Over time, each becomes something more—cultural, collective, enduring,” the notes read.
At a glance: the soon-to-launch Blue Tab collection on display
Inside the exhibit, pieces from the upcoming August-to-October Blue Tab collection were placed on display. The presentation also featured a lineup of activations, including curated installations, a denim-care showcase, and a custom ensemble assembled by a Levi’s tailor using Blue Tab garments.
Across the line, modern silhouettes were infused with understated kimono-inspired references and styled alongside reworked denim separates that formed voluminous, ballooning proportions.
Standout pieces included a light-wash set detailed with embroidered and laser-cut floral motifs, a boxy unstructured suiting ensemble rendered in deep indigo, and a Roper trio composed of a bustier, shacket, and voluminous jeans paneled with contrasting denim washes.
Meet the style stars of Southeast Asia
Personalities from across the region flew to Kuala Lumpur for the exclusive unveiling of the new Blue Tab line.
Representing the Philippines, Mimiyuuuh arrived in a ruffled denim button-down styled as a cropped top, paired with baggy jeans in a contrasting wash. She spruced up the look with a buckled Levi’s belt and a statement pigeon purse from JW Anderson.
Elsewhere, guests interpreted the denim-on-denim dress code through their own distinct sense of style.
Malaysian singer-actor Hun Haqeem wore an oversized unstructured jacket layered over a crisp white shirt and finished with a mint-toned neckerchief. Meanwhile, actor Nadhir Nasar stepped out in a coordinating set composed of a cropped boxy jacket and straight-cut jeans patterned with a subtle indigo-and-black cow print.
Influencer May Ho, on the other hand, approached the dress code with a more preppy perspective, pairing the ruffled shirt with an oversized denim blazer and flared Roper jeans. Braided hair and angular silver-framed spectacles completed the look.

Time for the fashion show
The evening’s highlight was the fashion show, where the brand unveiled pieces from the upcoming August-to-October Blue Tab line.
Brought to life through a 12-look presentation, the collection demonstrated the many styling possibilities within the lineup. The runway illustrated how the pieces could move seamlessly between masculine and feminine dressing, with garments mixed, layered, and reworked in various ways. Whether through pairing two shirts together or color-blocking different denim washes, the showcase spotlighted the Blue Tab collection’s versatility and timeless appeal, while hinting at a more forward-looking approach to dressing.
A Re-See with the models
Following the presentation, the models gathered around the exhibit area for a closer re-see of the looks featured on the runway. Up close, the precision of the tailoring emerged as the defining element of the collection. Achieving silhouettes that range from relaxed to structured is no easy feat, especially when working with a fabric as rigid as denim.
It was the seemingly subtle details—such as the placement of buttons or the drape of the sleeves—that gave the pieces a more elevated feel. Still, that sense of refinement never felt intimidating to the casual fashion folk. Instead, the collection was highly approachable, offering pieces that encourage experimentation with personal style.
About the Levi's Blue Tab Line
Levi’s Blue Tab is positioned as the label’s most elevated offering. Introduced in early 2025, the range centers on Japanese craftsmanship and premium selvedge denim, presenting a more refined approach to the house’s heritage staples.
Positioned above the classic Red Tab line, the offering leans into a more fashion-oriented experience while maintaining the label’s longstanding denim heritage. The collection emphasizes high-quality textiles, clean tailoring, and contemporary silhouettes that interpret classic workwear references through a more directional sensibility.
The brand describes the line as “the pinnacle of denim style,” with fabrics sourced from Kaihara Mills, the renowned Japanese mill based in Fukuyama, Hiroshima credited for producing roughly 50% of all Japanese denim. Across the collection, familiar Levi’s signatures are reworked through upgraded materials such as neppy denim, chambray shirting, and richly dyed selvedge washes.
