It's been close to a year since Squid Game first premiered, and yet it's still making waves in the international scene. Following Jung Ho Yeon's groundbreaking victory at the Screen Actors' Guild Awards is Lee Yoo Mi, who just brought home the Creative Arts Emmy Award for Guest Actress in a Drama Series!
In her acceptance speech, Yoo Mi was left gushing, expressing her gratitude for her teams at Netflix and Varo Entertainment. "Thank you for loving Ji-yeong, and I will continue to work harder as an actress," she continued on Instagram. This win is not only a significant feat for her as an actress but also for the entire Korean entertainment industry as it marks the first time a Korean actress won an Emmy! What an achievement!
LOOK: Lee Yoo Mi's Black Dress at the Creative Arts Emmys
For the red carpet, the 28-year-old actress kept it cute and classy in a black velvet midi dress with white lace ruffles on her collar and sleeves. The frock is quite literally the definition of "business in the front, party in the back" since it features a back-baring cut-out! Yoo Mi completed the look with spunky purple platform heels.
Additionally, Squid Game also bagged a couple of other accolades for its visual effects and overall production. It won Outstanding Stunt Performance, Outstanding Visual Effects in a Single Episode, and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program.
Congratulations again, Yoo Mi, and to the rest of the team behind Squid Game! If you're looking forward to the show's second season, read up on what we know about it so far here.
