Exciting news, pageant fans: Binibining Pilipinas 2022 is officially underway! Just yesterday, May 14, the pageant kicked things off with a stellar Santacruzan parade in celebration of Flores de Mayo. Floating down Araneta City was a slew of over-the-top gowns worn by some of the most stunning debutantes the country has to offer.
Aside from this year's crop of candidates, the affair was also graced by current titleholders Hannah Arnold, Cindy Obenita, Maureen Montagne, Samantha Panlilio, and Meiji Cruz. Miss International 2005 and established actress Precious Lara Quigaman was also in attendance, and she looked nothing short of breathtaking as Reyna Emperatríz.

Donning a beige-hued Filipiniana by Paul Tenorio, Lara was an absolute vision. The designer shares that the dress was actually an archive piece, and was the first terno he made when he was starting out in the industry.
The frock had exquisite appliques present on its bust, butterfly sleeves and at the bottom section of its ball gown skirt. Stylist Patrick Henry exemplified the garment's understated elegance by accessorizing with only a pair of dainty drop earrings.
Gio Flores, who was also Lara's wedding makeup artist, kept her beauty look simple yet classy with brushed on cheeks and a pink lip. Dennis Agaton then bundled up her locks in order to let the piece-de-resistance of the look—a replica of her Miss International 2005 crown—take center stage.
The actress-mom shares that after almost two decades, she finally got to meet Manny Halasan, the jewelry designer responsible for crafting the crown. Back in 2012's Araneta City Santacruzan, Lara took part in the procession as Reyna Elena, wearing the same pearl-adorned piece.
