Calling all furry lovers out there! If you're looking to upgrade your pet's wardrobe, Kyna Sy is here to the rescue. This Ateneo fresh grad who also studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines is specializing in couture for your animal friends, whether they're of the furry or feathered kind. (Think dogs, parakeets, or bunnies!)
Kyna says that her inclination to clothesmaking started because of her parents' work in the clothes manufacturing industry. She describes her style to be somewhere between streetwear and haute couture because of her penchant for "integrating intricate techniques into normal, everyday wear," she tells Preview.
When asked how she got into designing clothes for pets, Kyna sums it all in simple words. "My life’s aspiration is really to make people happy." And you can see why decked out pets would come into mind when thinking how to make other people happy. "Who doesn’t light up when they see a little pup dressed in an itsy bitsy blazer, right?" Kyna muses. "I plan to dress up iguanas, monkeys, and other rare pets next!"
"I’m launching a clothing line for pets in the near future, with prices ranging from P3000 up," she adds. And if you're looking for a more personalized piece for your furry friends, Kyna is very much open to make one just for you, too.
