The controversial Kim Kardashian and Kanye West feature in US Vogue was NOT Anna Wintour’s idea.
It was in fact proposed by creative director, Grace Coddington.
"There was a wedding story to be done," Coddington said, while speaking with the Financial Times. "And Anna [Wintour] probably had them in mind, because she had been seeing a lot of Kanye, so she said, ‘Maybe we should shoot it on lookalikes.' And I thought, ‘Why not just do it on the real thing? This is Vogue.” And I do think Kim Kardashian represents this moment in our culture. I’m fascinated by her, in the same way I’m fascinated by the people I see on the street or the subway.”
Devoted readers may have mixed reactions toward this much buzzed about cover, but according to Radar Online, there’s no denying that the issue is anticipated to top earlier best-selling covers, including that of Beyonce’s.
