Kim Da Mi is on the rise. From starring in the hit K-drama Itaewon Class, she’s also been making her own mark in the fashion industry, the most recent being her appearance in a fashion editorial for W Korea’s May 2020 issue.
Her comic book-like pictorial is definitely eye-catching and interesting—but more than that, we can't help but think it's reminiscent of another K-drama we love. Any guesses?
Doesn't this editorial remind you of W: Two Worlds Apart?! Here, let us jog your memory with the 2016 series' trailer:
Remember now? Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo's webtoon-inspired K-drama follows surgeon Oh Yeon Joo (Han Hyo Joo) who gets transported back and forth to the webtoon world where multimillionaire Kang Chul (Lee Jong Suk) lives.
This very same K-drama even inspired an Instagrammable 2D cafe we spotted in Seoul. So, so cool!
That said, we can't really tell if Da Mi’s 2D looks were actually inspired by the said K-drama. But we know one thing for sure: She's wearing pieces from the upcoming “California Sky” line, a collab collection between Italian luxury house Fendi and LA-based visual artist Joshua Vides. The latter is known for his 2D doodle sketches done in black and white. He also designed a shop and café for Fendi last year.
Bottomline: We would so love to cop all her outfits, especially that FF Logo Nano Baguette bag and Rockoko sneakers and socks!
