The 30-year-old actress took to her own YouTube channel to share the good news to her followers, noting what the project personally means to her as someone who overcame her insecurities and learned to embrace that body that she's in. "THIS IS IT! Honestly, medyo hesitant ako at first to take on something out of my comfort zone. I have always been insecure about my body since lagi akong tinutukso na payatot nung bata ako. Thankfully, as I grew older, I’ve slowly come to accept and love my body. And who else to better collaborate with [for] this milestone of mine on self-love and body positivity than H&M," Kim captions the video.
Fronting the Swedish retail giant's Tropical Essentials collection, Kim has brought the campaign to life as she happily frolicked on the beach and basked in the glowing Zambales sunset. Clad in fun bikini sets and colorful maillots that show off her toned bod, as well as flowy dresses and casual loungewear pieces, H&M's summer style star proves that looking good also comes down to feeling good about yourself.
On why they chose Kim as the newest face of the brand, H&M's official announcement reads: "Being someone who loves fashion herself, Chiu is the perfect face for this campaign, and not to mention the most fitting addition to H&M’s roster of beautiful and empowered Filipina ambassadors given how she’s grown through both trials and triumphs and turned into the strong, confident Kim that she is today. Much of how she carries each piece of the collection so well is also owed to her all-around fashion sense."
H&M’s Tropical Essentials collection is now out in stores.
