By now we’re sure you’ve heard— Last January 8, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, popularly known as the smash hit love team, Kathniel, bagged the titles for Best Foreign Actress and Actor at Vietnam’s Face of the Year Awards, an annual awards show by one of Vietnam’s largest networks airing Filipino soaps, IMC.

If the honor, determined by the highest number of public votes, is any proof of how well the tandem is doing in our neighboring countries, then it’s safe to say that our Teen King and Queen just added another milestone to their careers. Of course, to receive their awards, the two had to look the part. And as for Kathryn, the Preview girl looked every bit a winner in a Rose Quartz two-piece ensemble by designer Martin Bautista.

Style Bible talked to the designer to know more about her sweet frock. Read his interview below.

Did Kathryn have a say in the design process of her gown? Or was it more of a collaboration between you and her stylists, Kim and Boop Yap?

"Kim and Boop just wanted something sleek and clean for Kath."

Her stylists completed her Rose Quartz OOTN with a dash of sparkle - a pair of diamond drop earrings and a sequined clutch.

Why did you choose to dress her up in this color and style?

"I think the direction was really to follow the color of the year for 2016 which was Rose Quartz—just something chic, clean, and sleek."

What were the fabrics used and how long did it take to make it?

"The top part is made of crepe and the skirt is silk gazar. It took a week and a half to finish it."

Kathryn’s fresh makeup was by Justine del Rosario. And as for her hair? She styled it herself! Coached by hairstylist Kenjie Apostadero, the teen superstar managed to give herself a messy #IWokeUpLikeThis updo.

We’ve seen Kathryn donning your designs a couple of times now, how is it like working with the Teen Queen?

"She's very easy to work with. We all do it on Whatsapp, with Kim and Boop. We send the sketches and immediately get feedback. Fittings are always important! Luckily, Kim has almost the same body size as Kath so if the Teen Queen is busy and has no time to fit, we just fit the dress on Kim, take photos and forward it to Kath so she has an idea of how the dress will look like. Thank God for technology."
