If you're one of those people who are loyal to white sneakers (and white sneakers only), then you're probably averse to anything with bright colors. Perhaps, the most "colorful" you could do is taupe or navy. Well, let Kathryn Bernardo's recent footwear convince you to take a literal walk on the brighter side. The actress, who is a white sneaker loyalist herself, just posted an OOTD wearing a pair of red Keds Champion sneakers. We think it's a bold yet safe choice for those who want to dip their toes into color. Plus, these kicks from Keds are a classic (they've been around since 1916), so you can't go wrong!
If that isn't enough to convince you, maybe this little detail will: These sneakers were the same ones that Taylor Swift sported back when she had her first collection with Keds! The red Champion sneakers were part of her inaugural collab collection, which was launched just in time for her Red album. The only difference between Kath's and Taylor's though is the "Red" logo brandished on the back of the heel.

Champion sneakers come in leather or canvas, but it's the canvas design that's distinctly Keds. It features the iconic four-eyelet lace-up, white top-stitching, and the slim shape that's perfect for people with narrow feet (they have wider versions, too!).
Aside from the color choice, Kath and Taylor also approve of the sneaker's classic style. "'Di ako ma-streetwear masyado, more of a classic style because I really like '90s fashion, so I try to incorporate it with what I wear every day," she tells Preview. In the same vein, Taylor shared with WWD back in 2012 that she loves Keds sneakers for two reasons: "They’re classic and effortless."
As for the styling, there's nothing easier than wearing a pair of classic, fuss-free sneakers, even if they come in a bright colorway. Take cues from Kathryn and her '90s style sensibilities: She simply matched her red kicks with light-wash jeans and a cute fuzzy sweater that Cher Horowitz would approve of. As for Taylor, she paired hers back in the day with black jeans and a graphic sweater—black is the shortcut to looking more polished.
