The Kensington Palace marked Kate Middleton's 40th birthday on January 9 with a series of exquisite portraits that captured the Duchess of Cambridge's timeless beauty. Lensed by Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, the shoot was held in London's Kew Gardens—also known as Royal Botanic Gardens—a sprawling site that houses diverse botanical collections. The Duchess wore three dresses by Alexander McQueen, and was adorned with jewelry from the collections of Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth.
