Adrianne Concepcion on What It's Like to Be the Stylist of Kai Montinola
The Gen Z star has a good grasp of her developing style, according to her go-to stylist.

Kai Montinola is a living Barbie doll. The rising Gen Z star can do anything and do it skillfully—whether that’s singing and dancing on stage, acting in front of the cameras, or speaking in public. It also manifests in her sartorial choices. No matter what she’s set to do for the day, trust that Kai will show up in an outfit that embodies her unapologetic femininity, youthful charm, and beautiful nature.
Behind every look is her celebrity stylist, Adrianne Concepcion, who has become a frequent collaborator of Kai in the past year. She's able to translate Kai’s taste and personality into eye-catching fashion moments.
Preview talked to Adrianne to learn more about her relationship with Kai as her stylist and what truly makes the Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 alum the ideal muse.
Adrianne Concepcion on Being Kai Montinola’s Go-To Stylist
Please describe the first time you and Kai met.
“The first time I met Kai was the first time I actually styled her. It was November last year, I believe. The Big 4 were fresh out of the Big Brother house, and were scheduled for their first public appearance with a guesting on ASAP.
“When I first met Kai, I was truly impressed—not just by how beautiful she was, but also by how kind, pure, wise, and insanely talented she is.”
How did you end up working together? How long have you been working together since?
“Erik Miras, her Star Magic manager, contacted me for styling, Brent Sales for hair, and Paul Unating for makeup. I’d say that from the very beginning, we were a team that was meant to be; the bond we’ve built is effortless and authentic.
We’ve been working together since her first engagement, and almost everything that followed.”
How would you describe Kai as a client? As a stylist, what can you say about her personal style or aesthetic?
“Kai as a client is gracious and collaborative. She’s open to ideas, and she trusts wholeheartedly. Even as a teenager, Kai has a very keen sense of what she wants—clean and feminine when she’s on duty, comfortable and cool when she’s off duty, and larger-than-life showstoppers when she’s on stage.”

Has your personal relationship developed since you first met? How would you describe Kai as a friend?
“My relationship with Kai goes beyond work. She’s like a little sister or a niece to me—ever so gracious, respectful, and humble. Albeit her tender age, talking with her is like talking to a grown adult. She’s sharp and full of wisdom that, sometimes, I forget she’s a teenager. She’s also very intuitive and observant. She can read a room well, very empathetic of others. I think what’s most commendable with her is her willingness to learn. She’s always eager to learn things and know more.”
Tell us something interesting about Kai that her fans don’t know!
“Kai is a musicale fanatic like me. We bond over old Disney films and songs, and Broadway songs. She’s an old soul. She can sing to the classics, and belt out Rodger and Hammerstein songs. She doesn’t shy away from singing.”
