Confidence is key.

You’re no K-drama fan if you haven’t yet seen While You Were Sleeping, Prison Playbook, and/or Something in the Rain—and if you did, then we’re pretty sure Jung Hae In needs no introduction. The South Korean actor has an infectious smile that immediately captivates an audience, which you’ll be able to witness in the flesh if you make it to his Manila fan meeting tonight at the KIA Theatre. Preview was able to have a quick chat with this Hallyu heartthrob before the much-anticipated event, and lucky for you, we already asked him some of the questions we’re sure you’ve been dying to know!

On his skincare routine

Just like all our other favorite K-drama stars, Hae In has an almost-poreless and glowing complexion that can easily make his beauty product endorsements fly off the shelves. So naturally, his skincare routine was one of the things we immediately asked him about, and—surprise, surprise!—he apparently doesn’t have one. “I don’t even go to the derma,” he admits. So yeah, as if we need another reason to be greener with envy, he turns out to be one of the very lucky few who are simply born with #blessed skin. Sigh.

On his personal style

Hae In describes his overall style as “simple and minimal.” He doesn’t need to be loud in order to be stylish so he normally sticks to a neutral palette that captures his penchant for classic, polished looks. “I try not to go with [clothes that are] too patterned or too eye-opening. I just go with black or white because those are my favorites,” he tells us. And when we asked what his go-to outfit combo is, he was quick to answer “a plain white shirt and jeans.”

His tips on dressing up

For Hae In, there are three most important things that every guy should take note of when it comes to styling himself: “First is [to have] confidence,” he says. The second, according to the K-drama star, is “to know [your body’s] the strengths and weaknesses.” This way, you can highlight the features you are proud of and learn how to work around the parts that you’re not quite comfortable with. And lastly, you should be able “to express [through your] clothes what [you] want to express.” Yup, very well said—and come to think of it, us girls need to master these tips, too!
