Brides-to-be meticulously plan their weddings down to the very last detail. It marks the beginning of a new life for them, and the best way to celebrate that is by wearing the perfect white dress. After all, you'll be seeing it in your albums for the coming years as you reminisce your wedding day. Local designer Jian Lasala understands each bride's desire to walk down the aisle in a gown that exudes grace, elegance, and her unique personality.

Known for his opulent gowns, Jian has dipped his toes in bridal wear since his college days. It was in 2012 when he had his first chance to design for a bride as a professional designer. And just last April, he officially launched the Lasala Bride Story brand.

According to Jian, there's a difference between designing for a bride and making runway-ready gowns. He says, "It is important that you give the brides what they want and balance it with what you want to achieve as a designer because you cannot just push whatever ideas you have just to be on trend, or just to be famous and brag about your work. You were paid to design the gown of their dreams and brides come to you because they already know that you as a designer, or me in particular, already has that signature look that suits them very well."

Jian has an inclination towards texture and form. He has a good grasp on how fabrics can effectively highlight a woman's body through "lace on lace patchworks in bodice, whether it is hourglass in shape, sweetheart in neckline, basque or high waist, and whether or not it is a ball gown or a simple serpentine dress," he adds.

All in all, Jian simply wants his Lasala bride to be "someone who is unafraid to let her inner soul radiate, and her love for life resonate. She is full of love and kindness that it shines through. She is also someone who is beaming with beauty and naturally confident." And once you slip into his creations, the aforementioned seems like an easy feat.

Jian, as a designer, is a celebrator endowed with unwavering enthusiasm to help you look and feel a princess. "I always do my best to let them feel that I am reliable and that I can deliver what was promised and that their wishes and whims (within reason) will be heard of and be granted," he says. "[My clients receive] constant updates from me specially at the most important moments in the creation of their dream wedding dress. There will be and should be no surprises from me during fittings or upon delivery and any changes in the design from my end will be communicated thoroughly to the bride." He works with utmost care and professionalism, he's also especially strict when it comes to contracts.

It is also important for him to preserve the relationship he has with his brides. He explains, "I am [grateful] for their trust and confidence because if not for them Lasala as a brand would have been long dead by now."
