Singapore-based label In Good Company is finally in Manila!

Straight from Singapore, In Good Company (IGC) launches in the country today, bringing in its neo-modern aesthetic that reinterprets classic silhouettes with a modern twist.

A go-to label for anything that's accessible, wearable, and free-spirited, IGC was forged in 2012 by four friends one work night. Sven Tan and Kane Tan are the creatives holding the Creative Director and Chief of Design positions respectively. On the other hand, Jackyn Teo and Julene Aw run the mechanical part of the enterprise. Together, the quartet offers a modern take on closet favorites elevated with quirky details and impeccable craftsmanship.

In the sea of fast fashion, it's not easy for a newbie brand to make noise. That said, they chose to launch their business with a curated 40-piece collection, which later on became their standard system for releasing new pieces. By announcing capsules, they approach the ready-to-wear market free from the dictates of trends and fashion seasons.

IGC prefers not to rush their creative or manufacture legs and opts to release new items quarterly or bi-monthly. It enables them to offer well-thought modern essentials for their consumers. But apart from becoming independent in terms of design, IGC also puts focus on the technology behind the clothes and its fabrications. They make sure that their pieces are sturdy yet suitable for tropical climates.

The brand opens in the city with Capsule 11 that Sven describes to have "explored new shapes and draping techniques that create more movement and dimensionality, as well as new hardware such as oversized grommets, hanging ties, and d-rings that give the capsule a modern utilitarian look, in an ultra-wearable way.”

Additionally, the collection injects sharp, modern, fluid silhouettes with technical detailing and visual panels, an obvious nod to the retro years. It also offers a new perspective on workwear while breaking down formal dress codes and, at the same time, redefining and refining casualwear.

It also includes an array of accessories like necklaces inspired by nature, more specifically constellations and florals. All the necklaces are hand assembled and finished with hand stitches.
