The annual coronation night of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant is considered as the country’s most prestigious beauty tilt, and last Sunday, March 15, it trended on social media not only for its goodlooking candidates but mostly due to Toni Gonzaga’s controversial hosting stint. The recently engaged celebrity headlined Twitterverse after her amusing remarks during the question and answer portion. People of the Internet are still torn about whether they loved it or hated it.

The moment Toni stepped out wearing a cerulean Michael Cinco ball gown, we knew that she was going to be the star of the night. She made heads turn with not just one but three immaculate frocks made by the Dubai-based designer. Even her hair looked sleek in an updo and her makeup was nothing loud, just enough to highlight her best features and give her a natural radiant glow.
Later on during the pageant though, what caused quite a stir was her witty sense of humor. In an attempt to lighten up the mood, the host poked fun at some of the candidates and even the judges.
One of the most notable ones was when Princess Joy Camu nervously claimed that it was her first time to join a national pageant and Toni immediately asked, “Are you looking forward to the second time?” before the crowd broke into laughter. Another one was when she made a comment on Hannah Ruth Sison’s jewelry: “Your earrings [have] its own theme song,” Toni observed. “Chandelier,” and then she even sang a few lines from the song.
The 30-year-old celebrity might have drawn mixed reactions on social media, but for what it’s worth, we at Style Bible were thrilled by how Toni stole the spotlight. While she looked ethereal in all three of her Michael Cinco frocks, her usual fun and quirky self brought character to the table. Nothing’s cooler than a well-dressed girl who came to the party armed with a sexy sense of humor.
"Finally, some comic relief,” said our managing editor.
