How To Use Instagram's 5 New #ootd-friendly Filters Stop whatever you're doing and check it out, now!

There’s no denying it: we live in the age of Instagram and now the genius creators have decided to give us all a special treat this Christmas. If you haven’t upgraded this app yet, do it now! We’re talking about five new filters that will make posting OOTDs, OOTNs, SOTDs, and more whatevers-of-the-day extra double tap-worthy. After the introduction of Mayfair and Willow back in 2012, everyone’s favorite photo sharing application now has a total of 24 filter options with the addition of Crema, Slumber, Ludwig, Aden, and Perpetua (it’s about time!).  Scroll down as we break down the update for you.

Photo editing skills are not required with the two new photo enhancer tools available within the app. Aside from the filters tab on the rightmost, Intagram now also has Lux and Tools. There won’t be a need to transfer from one app to another to enhance your snapshots, because there is now a tool button (that contains more than just cropping) where you can play around with the contrast, saturation, sharpness, shadows, highlights, and more. The Lux button on the other hand, is perfect for those who want nice photos without going down and dirty with the nitty-gritty of the tools. Lux allows you to adjust the brightness, saturation, and contrast of the photo in one quick go. We all love shortcuts, don't we? Because, #BAE.

With 24 filters to choose from, deciding on which one to go with just became a lot harder. Come to think of it though, there are some options that you know deep inside you're never going to use. With the new update, you guys can now just keep the ones you like in the Manage Filters button.

All eyes are now on the new additions to the Instagram family.

Perfect for: Dramatic shots with your partner-in-crime a.k.a the boyfriend, the sister, or the bff, thanks to the sepai-like tint

ADEN (on iOS) / JAMAE (on Android)

Perfect for: Shots taken in the morning as it will balance out dull yellow tones

Perfect for: Outdoor shots at the beach against the sunset. With the light spills of this filter, the darklit background will get interesting touches of drama.

Perfect for: The Christmas festivities because it balances out unwanted red tints that could come from red lights. It's also the filter to use for party shots taken at night.

Perfect for: That OOTD you love taking against a plain wall. No need to access the other tools with this filter as it will instantly make all things pretty and bright.

Go ahead, update your app and test it. We assure you, these new additions will seal your fate (or feed) with more hearts and likes.
